This is another "process" painting in that I started applying paint with no set or planned design, concept or composition in mind. The composition has developed in-process.

I was coming off of painting "Child of Orion" and was communing with that epic feeling, that ancient, pre-genesis kind of thing. I was tying my awareness to the mythic pre-histories embedded in the genetic memory. It represents renewal, rebirth, the phoenix-like rising from oblivion. It is the willing of regeneration through faith that is abstractly represented here. The eternal rebirth potential arises from simple belief, focus, awareness, allowing it to be true; The being is encoded into simple focal points, to be decoded through acceptance. The gesture is both graceful and accepting. The hand is suspended in the currents of the ether of existence, buoyed up by it's own genesis.
